Agriculture, lumber, and mining are the industries which have historically been the basis of wealth production in Jackson County, Oregon. By nature, the work is physically demanding and often dangerous.
Mission Statement
Producers of Wealth EnRich Jackson County (which does business as PowerJC) is a non-profit Oregon corporation which has been awarded tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service. PowerJC's goals are to:
- Honor those workers in the three basic wealth-producing industries of agriculture, lumber, and mining who lost their lives while working in the three industries and at the time of their fatal injury or death were either residents of Jackson County, Oregon or were working in Jackson County, Oregon. Workers meeting these criteria will be included in an Honor Roll being created by PowerJC.
- Establish, dedicate, and maintain a memorial to Honor Roll members.
- Provide assistance during their time of bereavement to the families of Honor Roll members.
- Educate the public regarding the crucial importance the agriculture, lumber, and mining industries have to the continued economic health and prosperity of our society and nation.
- Promote greater effort in the news media for fair and balanced coverage of events and issues involving the agriculture, lumber, and mining industries and their workers.

Honor Roll
We have developed a list of over 200 Jackson County workers who have been killed or fatally injured on the job while employed in the agriculture, lumber, or mining industries. One of the goals of our organization is to include the names of all the Honor Roll members in the memorial we are working to create. Click here to load our Honor Roll page; the list is presorted in several formats. We welcome your nomination of additional people for the Honor Roll or corrections of the information for the people already on the Honor Roll.
Memorial Design
Design and siting of the memorial is an on-going process. We are in discussion with the Jackson County Expo and the park commissions of various cities about possible locations and design features. Click here to load our Memorial Design page to view proposals.
